Have you ever wanted to try mountain biking but weren't sure where to start? This FREE event is the perfect opportunity for riders of all ages and skill levels to give one of the fastest-growing outdoor sports a try in a fun, welcoming environment.

Hosted by 30West Bike Shop, Ride the Range, the Iron Range Off-Road Cyclists, Chisholm Kids Plus, the Rock Ridge MTB Team, the Mesabi Trail, the Free Wheelers Bike Program, the City of Chisholm, and the Minnesota Discovery Center, this Try-It Night will take place at Redhead MTB Park.

Participants will have the opportunity to try out mountain bikes (or bring their own), experience the Pump Track & Skills Course, and explore beginner-friendly green trails. The flow trails on the far side of Redhead MTB Park will be accessible via MDC's shuttle van.

Throughout the evening, experienced riders will teach MTB basics the Pump Track & Skills Course. They'll also take small groups out onto the trails for individually tailored rides based on each rider’s experience, comfort level, and preferences. Whether it’s your very first time on a mountain bike or you’re ready to explore more of Redhead, we’ll help you find a ride that fits!

⚠️ Helmets are required for all riders. Please wear athletic shoes and bring your own helmet if you have one. A limited number of helmets in various sizes will be available to borrow.

🎉 Giveaways! Participants have the chance to win a biking jersey along with a few brand-new bike helmets to help keep the adventures going long after Try-It Night!

☕🌮 Come hungry and thirsty! North Haven Coffee and Street Tacos & Eats will be onsite to keep everyone fueled with delicious food and drinks throughout the evening!

🏛️ Make a night of it! MDC will be open from 4:00-8:00pm, so after your ride, stick around to explore the Museum, play a round of Mini Golf, tour the grounds, and enjoy everything MDC has to offer.

🕟 4:30pm ~ Event starts; meet at Redhead MTB Park's Trailhead
🚵 4:30-7:00pm ~ Pump Track & Skills Course lessons + small group rides on the trails
🤝 4:30-5:30pm ~ Meet the Rock Ridge MTB Team! These young experts will be ready with tips and encouragement
😋 Throughout the event ~ Grab food and drinks from North Haven Coffee and Street Tacos & Eats
🌙 7:00pm ~ Event concludes; enjoy free admission at MDC until 8:00pm
