The Haunted History of Lacock Village

Nestled in the heart of Wiltshire, Lacock is one of England’s most historic and atmospheric villages. With medieval roots, ancient cottages and streets that have remained largely unchanged for centuries, it is easy to see why Lacock has become a place filled with history, mystery and intrigue.
The village grew around Lacock Abbey, founded in 1232, and has witnessed centuries of religious life, Tudor change and Victorian history. Its darkened streets and historic buildings create the perfect backdrop for tales of ghosts and the unexplained.
With so much history, could echoes of Lacock’s past still remain? As darkness falls and the village grows quiet, haunted Lacock takes on a very different atmosphere.
