After the unexpected death of her father, Helen (played by Claire Foy) is overwhelmed by grief and retreats into memories of their shared love of the natural world.

Seeking structure and meaning, she becomes obsessed with training a goshawk—one of the most challenging birds of prey to handle.

She brings home Mabel, a fierce and untamed hawk, and immerses herself in the ancient, meticulous discipline of falconry.
