There will be open space for questions about the drum, rhythm patterns and about the culture as a whole.Drums will be provided, but feel free to bring your own drum, as well. All ages welcome.Please bring a water bottle, snacks and anything you need to be comfortable. Workshop will be held indoors at the Chimacum Grange #681 located off of Rhody Ave.About the Instructor:SkiJah Gaindey Indigo has been given the title Master Drummer by Malik Sow (Master Drummer and Conductor of Senegal). SkiJah has studied traditional West African music and culture for over 14 years with an emphasis on traditional drumming. He has been granted permission to teach and share the culture of the Mandane Empire and its rich history that is seen throughout modern day society today. SkiJah has performed and travels extensively sharing his knowledge and talent on the djembe drum, teaching workshops and performing with various artists.
