Moneka Arabic Jazz

A fusion of music from around the world comes to The Chilliwack Cultural Centre with Moneka Arabic Jazz!

High-energy rhythms from Iraq and African groove meld with Jazz to create a new, indescribably sensational sound. Rooted in Blues and Jazz, the ensemble’s unique sound comes from frontman, Ahmed Moneka’s Afro-Iraqi roots, reflecting his life and extensive stops between Baghdad and Toronto. Accompanied by undeniably skilled musicians, old tales and traditional instruments are transformed by inventive compositions!
