This October half term, we've got a great new adventure for you! It's time to go down to the New Forest, based in Lyndhurst, where we've got access to a number of different cycling trails and mountain biking routes. It's a great area and during Autumn the colours on the trees, make it very magical and scenic. So many children have a mountain bike, but do they really know how to use it properly and technically? Is it set up right? Can they use their gears correctly? Let us help you to help train them and enjoy this brilliant sport, which they can then develop with their friends!
Our plan for October is simple:
- Tuesday. Meet at a location in Bedford. Take our bikes and head down to the New Forest. Once arriving down there, have lunch and go on ride 1. Over the course of these rides, we'll be teaching different skills, including using their gears, brakes, hills, bike checks and more.
- Wednesday - longer cycle ride, taking lunch with us.
- Thursday - longer cycle ride, taking lunch with us.
- Friday - cycle ride in the morning, getting back early afternoon. Load the bikes up and return back to Bedford.
The problem is though, we don't know where we will be going on these rides until we get down there, because it is not the Instructors who will be planning them. It's you!
Due to the time of when we are heading off and the unpredictability of the weather, we've decided to play it safe and hire a building, in the eventuality that the weather is atrocious. This then gives us somewhere to store the bikes over night, but also to dry off any clothes as needed - although we don't plan on spending much time in there.
This residential will have a maximum of 11 participants with 2 Instructors attending and the building we have booked is perfectly suited to this number. This activity is aimed at children who are between 10 and 16 years of age.
Your bike and riding ability: You must be able to ride a bike without stabilisers. Please note your bike must be in a road-worthy and safe condition. Please consider whether you need to have it serviced before attending this activity. There will be certain kit that is needed, but we will also have a stock of kit that is available too. Please be aware that we reserve the right to not allow a bike to be used if it is not in a roadworthy condition according to our Instructors. Therefore, if this is the case, we do have bikes for you to add on to your trip. If you need to or would like to borrow one of our bikes, this will be £60 for the trip.
Don't delay in booking your place. 4 places have already gone on this trip and that was within 1 hour of the trip going live, leaving 7 places!
