Vive La France!
Windy City Winds, “Chicago’s Community Band”, will whisk our audience to France for the presentation of our Spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Lincoln Park.
The concert will feature French composers and French-inspired music designed to transport listeners across the Atlantic, including classics like Gershwin’s An American in Paris, and Ravel’s Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte. Keeping with the band’s commitment to featuring female composers, the concert will also showcase Ouverture by Germaine Tailleferre. Additional programming includes Saint-Saens’ Marche Militaire Francaise and Scenes from the Louvre by Norman Dello Joio.
Admission to the concert is free.
St. Paul’s United Church of Christ is located at 2335 N. Orchard St, Lincoln Park.
