What might you get when jazzy British prog fuses with muscular 70’s rock? You get Supertramp, whose music eventually blended into a smart and polished 80’s pop that was uniquely their own.
Join us on December 4th and 5th at Martyrs, when Tributosaurus becomes Supertramp. We’ll explore all facets of an incredible catalog.
We love this band, and want to celebrate the late Richard Davies, a main driving force on vocals, keyboards, harmonica and more. As the albums became more artful, so will our set to feature complex harmonies, intricate saxophone, and the rare rock and roll clarinet. The band also showcased the focused writing of bassist/vocalist Roger Hodgson, and his unique vocal sound.
The brilliant Breakfast In America dominated the charts in 1979 and 1980, as Supertramp produced some of the most unique radio hits of the era. The success of the record sent them into the pop stratosphere, and it has sold more than 20 million copies.
It was also the beginning of the end for Supertramp’s large scale success, as Hodgson and Davies grew apart and ended their association in 1983.
Thankfully, they left a huge trove of excellent songs; we’re excited to play the ones we love.
Come out to Martyrs, where we promise to Give A Little Bit of our love to you in December.
