The Craft of Jewelry Making with Steven Blaine Adams

Students must register for the whole course at the beginning, this is not a drop in class
Learn the art and craft of designing jewelry from master jewelry designer Steven Blaine Adams. Over the course of 4 months, meeting once a month and with assignments in between class meetings, you will receive thorough instruction in many aspects of jewelry design, including bracelets, pendants,earrings, necklaces and wire wrapping of crystals.
Learn to make beautiful jewelry you can give as gifts for all occassions, including the holidays. Topics to be covered include:
using jewelry making tools
creative tips for using tools
understanding standard and atypical lengths of necklaces and bracelets
the correct gauge wire to use for various size beads
the energies of stones and weight distribution of beads
creating your own settings and findings (clasps, head pins and ear wires)
how to properly close off a necklace or bracelet
how to use a jig to create different wire patterns
historical and cultural styles in jewelry design such as Asian, African, Egyptian & Native American
designing jewelry for various purposes, such as to heal the chakras
Students must purchase on their own a jewelry making toolkit. You can get them online here:

Students should bring any beads or stones they would like to work with, and some will be provided by the instructor. Please bring a tray that is divided into sections to put your stones in.
Steven Blaine Adams is an artist and designer who works with natural materials like stones and crystals to create symbols with spiritual resonance. The son of an astrologer and Tarot reader, Steve has been doing readings professionally for over 30 years, combining the Aquarian Tarot with the healing properties of gemstones. He is LFAC’s Associate Artistic Director and store designer. Steve attributes meditation, art, ritual and spiritual connection as instrumental catalysts in his path towards healing.
