SON OF ABBEY is an original rock band from Chicago. Heavily influenced by the sounds of the Seattle rock era of the 90's, writing similar sounding songs but bringing modern ideas.
SOA is made up of members of the Chicago music scene. Vocalist Karl Hafner of Lucid Ground branched out in 2015 to write and record an EP. He was looking for a band to fit and write with him. Chris Shen from A Birdsong Valentine, Polarizer, and Moon jumped on board to play bass. Shortly After drummer Chris Ellison from Visionaire joined on as drummer. With the band’s core in place the guys hit the studio to record their self titled debut at Rax Trax studio. While in the studio Tom Miller of Rocket Cathedral added organs and piano to round the sound out.
