Whether you work in science or are just interested in science discoveries and research, this is a great time to meet like-minded folks!At this Science Social, WE get to be the "lab rats!" Steve Franconeri, PhD, Northwestern University Professor of cognitive psychology, developed , a game easy to master at any age, that is designed to turn heated arguments into a joint exploration supported by mutual respect and honest thinking. He will explain his reasoning and the research behind it the game, then we will play it and provide feedback.It's a great follow up to ISC's program last fall -- Your Brain on Misinformation -- when Dr. Matthew Facciani presented his work for Misguided: Where Misinformation Starts, How It Spreads, and What to Do About It. Attendees were very interested in how to persuade relatives discussing politics and had a lively post-presentation conversation about how to have productive non-argumentative conversations.
