Beneath the shiny storefront of Warehouse Liquors, past an ornate stone door with no handle guarded by a sphinx, lies a cavern patrolled by fierce centaurs who will chop the hands off anyone seeking to plunder the treasures within, but plunder we did!
Ok, not really, but there's a basement at Warehouse Liquors choc full of cool stuff. Join us as we dust off a few bottles that haven't seen the light of day in over a decade! What better dusties to feature than a brand that has the exact same ethos, Orphan Barrel. Since 2013 Orphan Barrel has bottled whiskies from distilleries that have changed hands, names and ownership over the years. They pick particularly delicious, old and rare barrels for bottling and once they're gone, they're gone forever. Many of the bottles featured in this tasting are mostly gone in fact, but at Warehouse the stock runs deep dusty and we are happy to share it with you!
So join us on Thursday, March 5th at 6:00pm for a dive into some particularly fun bourbons from Orphan Barrel, accompanied by light snacks and lively conversation. See below for exactly what we'll be cracking open.
Barterhouse - 20 years old, distilled at New Bernheim Distillery, aged at Stitzel-Weller, bottled 2014.
Old Blowhard - 26 years old, distilled at New Bernheim Distillery, aged at Stitzel-Weller, bottled 2015.
Lost Prophet - 22 years old, distilled at George T. Stagg Distillery, (now Buffalo Trace,) aged at Stitzel-Weller, bottled 2015.
