He received his Bachelor's degree in Studio Art from Skidmore College. He has worked as a teaching artist in various programs and institutions while also maintaining a personal freelance and art practice. A short list of collaborators includes Pilsen Housing Cooperative, the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame, Studio Elaine Mosaic, Chicago Tool Library, Chicago Printers Guild, Spudnik Press Cooperative, Field Notes, Code Switch Podcast (NPR), and the Chicago Reader. Exploring everyday rituals, icons, symbols, and communication, his works redefine midwestern identity as a hybrid of ancient and contemporary life. Pieces employ a satirical cartoon style infused with the flattened aesthetics of mesoamerican and Mexican folk art alongside an admiration for hand-painted signs. Printed ephemera, passing phrases, political movements, and palpable relics of the past are combined into graphic images championing a diverse liberated future.Lucas Barreto-Cisneros is a transmasc Brazilian-Cuban cartoonist and witch based in Chicago. His work centers around the simple and complex beauties of being human. His inspirations include dance, nature, and finding the magic in the mundane. With his art, he hopes to give space for others to envision and create a gentler world.Teddie Bernard (they/he) is a cartoonist, zine-maker, and future time traveler. They spend their time playing with old print equipment and researching obscure lesbians. You can find them online at www.teddiebernard.net. Robin Carnilius (she/her) is a Chicago-based multimedia artist and storyteller who creates pop culture media with a focus on LGBTQ+ and PoC representation and nerd culture. GG Christensen is a documentarian of play, drawing materials from truths, lies, and conversations of unknown origins. Their work explores shared human experiences through a lens that is equal parts sincere and pretend. Currently, GG is finding play in utility poles, oatmeal, politics, and their pet frog, Gibb.Sidne K. Gard is a queer cartoonist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Currently, they are earning their MFA in comics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Their work focuses on the intersection of memory, history, identity, and monsters. They are deeply afraid of bees and never-ending unfinished projects. They have only managed to face one of those fears. Producer:Jaime Dear is part of the Strange Deer Press comic & zine collective. Their comics include the softball romance, Pivot, and the synesthesia zine, The Shape of All Time. They are currently working on zines for the Mississippi Five Campaign to bring justice for incarcerated folks.
