With guidance from game designer Stefan Barkow, families will explore real board game prototypes, learn how to develop a game’s concept and mechanics, and create personalized game boards, cards, and pieces – perfect for future family game nights.Stefan Barkow is a game designer, developer, and publisher. He studied economics and English literature at Purdue University, reflecting his interest in people and how they make decisions. Happenstance led to the discovery of an entire world of independent game design, which was a natural fit that allowed him to combine those interests with others, such as clever design and creating joyful experiences for others. His next game, “Hard Drive,” will be coming to Kickstarter in early 2026.Registration is strongly encouraged to help the Smart team best prepare for the day. Walk-ins will be welcome as space allows.
