It certainly encompasses these things, but to reduce Witchcraft to nothing more than this strips it of one of its greatest strengths: its relationship with the Gods. Over the next six classes, a small cohort of practitioners will be led through a series of workshops designed to help them build a working relationship with the Gods. Each class combines discussion and hands-on ritual and take-home assignments to help each participant connect even more deeply with the subject matter. You will get out of this workshop exactly what you put into it, so come ready to participate! Witches of all skill levels are welcome to attend, but please note that each class will build upon the last and you cannot join once the course has begun.Workshop One- September 25Long Live the Gods: First Steps in Devotional WitchcraftIn the first of this six part series, we'll explore the differences between devotional witchcraft and operative magic. While spellcraft can certainly produce meaningful results on its own, cultivating a healthy, devotional relationship with the gods can bring greater depth and purpose to your practice. Together, we'll examine what it means to walk a path dedicated to and in service to the Gods, how devotion differs from worship, and why many Witches choose to build lasting relationships with the gods as a part of their magical journey.Workshop Two- October 9Hearing the Call of the GodsIn the second of this six part series, we'll explore the many ways the gods communicate with us, from dreams to signs and omens. Together, we'll examine how to recognize and discern these moments of contact, and then perform a ritual to enhance our connection, and thus communication, with the gods. By the end of this workshop, participants will have a practical set of tools available to communicate with their gods even outside of ritual.Workshop Three- October 23Enshrining the GodsIn the third of this six part series, we'll explore the art of creating a home for the gods through devotional shrines. Participants will learn how to design and dedicate a shrine, choose devotional objects, and consecrate statues or other representations of the divine for use in personal practice. We will examine how these spaces can be transformed into sacred places of power where the gods can be called to and experienced with greater ease.Workshop Four- October November 6Of Sacrifice & OfferingsIn the fourth of this six part series, we'll explore the role that offerings, sacrifice, and acts of devotion play in cultivating a lasting relationship with the gods. Drawing upon both historical traditions and modern practice, students will learn how to make meaningful offerings and establish regular devotional rituals. We will also explore the role of reciprocity with the gods while discussing how consistent acts of devotion can lead to an intense and powerful devotional relationship with the gods.Workshop Five- November 20Invoking the GodsIn the fifth of this six part series, we will explore methods of making magic with the gods. We will also discuss the differences between magic from the gods and magic from within. The themes of theurgy and and raising power with which to feed the gods will be the primary focus of today’s class.Workshop Six- December 4All is OneThe sixth and final class in this six part series will focus on experiencing the gods with the wholeness and freshness of life—that is, drawing them into ourselves.
