This time around, in addition to re-imagining music by Richard D. James, Alarm Will Sound worked directly with electronica artists to create acoustic reworkings of music originally intended to be performed by machines. The result sees the musicians of AWS using helium, bicycle pumps, Dremel tools, and more to “restem” these tracks to be performed live.Alarm Will Sound’s classical skill and limitless curiosity have attracted musical collaborators like Bjork, The Dirty Projectors, Medeski Martin and Wood, and Tyshawn Sorey. Their recent double album, For George Lewis | Autoschediasms, was named a top recording of 2021 by NPR, The New York Times, Bandcamp, and others. --Thalia Hall will require all staff, patrons, and performers to provide proof of full vaccination (two weeks after final dose).
