2019 Chicago Shinbukan Seminar
Welcome to the 2019 USA Shinbukan Seminar
We will be hosting our guest Kuroda Sensei in Chicago this year
Training will be held for 5 days, beginning Wednesday May 22nd and through Sunday May 27th and held at:
3717 N Ranvenswood Ave #112
Chicago IL 60613
The registration fee will be $175 for all students regardless of days of attendence (this is to help cover the cost of Sensei's travel, stay and meals). For those who are interested we are happy to share how this number was calculated, please feel free to inquire.
$40 per class (there are two classes per day) - please mutiply the number of days you are attending by $80
The total cost will be the registration fee plus the cost per day multiplied by the number of days you will be attending. For example: 3 days = $175 + (3 * $80) = $415
There will be two classes held each day, one morning (8am-11am) and one afternoon (2pm-5pm)
If you would prefer to bring the per class fee in Yen that is acceptable and the fee is 4,000 Yen per class.
Please make your appropriate seminar payment for the seminar using this link:
**In the note please be sure to include your name so we know where the money is coming from!
***In order to give us time to exchange the class fees into Yen, we will not be able to accept class fees in dollars after 5/10 and you will need to bring the Yen yourself.
If you are a new student your seminar fee DOES NOT include the introductory payment to be made personally to Sensei when you arrive. Please plan to have that ready in an envelope to hand to Sensei when you arrive.
Hotels are obviously all over Chicago and there are a number of websites, apps and locations that you might consider (suburbs, airport or downtown, etc.). Airbnb and other sharing websites are a great option in our area. If you are willing to group with several others to reduce cost there are some very good deals available. If you are not renting a car plan to stay as close to the dojo as possible, travel in the city can be time consuming.
If there are folks interested in pooling together to find an inexpensive option let us know and we are happy to help organize.
Similar to the seminar last year in San Diego we will be organizing a buffet style lunch each day for those who are interested in participating. We will be sending a Survey Monkey out closer to the seminar to get a head count for lunches. Dinners will be a group event out to a local restaurant in which everyone will always be invited to join. On Saturday evening we will order in a dinner at the dojo and will request that everyone plan to attend as a group for the final dinner of the seminar.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Matt Wever with any questions.
Best regards and we look forward to training with you all soon!
IF YOU NOTICE THAT SOMEONE FROM SHINBUKAN HAS NOT RECEIVED AN INVITATION PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FORWARD (along with our aplogies)
