Join us for an intermediate handbuilding workshop where you’ll learn the foundations of crafting your own clay vessel flute.
Students should have a basic understanding of handbuilding (we’ll briefly review pinch pots + scoring & slipping).
We’ll build two small pinch pots, join them into an airtight vessel, shape the mouthpiece, then drill and tune the flute once it reaches the right leather-hard stage. No music or luthier experience required.
There will be a 1.5-hour lunch break to allow pieces to dry.
Everyone leaves with a functional, sound-making instrument.
Goals
