- **Event Name**: Seven Steps to a Good/Great Death
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 26 Aug, 2026 at 10:00 am
- **Event Description**: Description
As a family Doctor of 40 years experience, I have seen how differently people prepare for their own death, with a few being well prepared, some indifferently so, and an important minority who are tragically ill prepared.

This course profiles those who are well prepared, how they go about this, and how they have their friends, family and professional carers aligned with their well formulated wishes regarding their own dying.

Particular emphasis is placed on identifying and recruiting your Trusted Friend, completing your end of life care plan, ensuring parts of it are communicated to your loved ones, your professional carers, and finally on being able to direct your medical care effectively through the stages of progression towards your own death, and beyond.

Detail will be considered regarding recognition of illness progression, onset of a pre terminal illness phase, consideration of how it is you are likely to die, and consideration to what kind of psychosocial legacy you wish to leave for your loved ones and carers.
