What You'll Learn:
• Class 1 - Introduction to Pottery & Hand
Building (2h 30 min) March 6, Friday 2-4:30pm
Learn the basics of clay, tools, and studio practices. Students will explore pinch and slab techniques to create hand-built pieces.
• Class 2 - Wheel Throwing (3h 30 min) March 7, Saturday 10am-1:30pm
Introduction to wheel throwing, covering wedging, centering, and forming shapes. Students will practice making cylinders or bowls with hands-on guidance.
• Class 3 - Trimming Techniques (2h 30 min) March 8, Sunday 10am -12:20pm
Learn how to trim leather-hard pieces to refine form and balance. The class focuses on centering for trimming and foot-ring design.
• Class 4 - Glaze Theory, Glaze mixing and firing processes (3h)
March 11, Wednesday 10am-1pm
An introduction to glaze materials, maxing, and application. Students will also learn the basics of bisque and glaze firing and how they affect finished work.
