- **Event Description**: Misery loves company… Come audition for Stephen King’s Misery at the Historic Atlas Theatre on Tuesday, August 25th at 6:30 p.m. Directed by Jay Batson, Misery will open on Friday, October 30th and run through Sunday, November 15th.

This psychological thriller based on Stephen King’s novel and film, Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash and wakes up captive in a secluded home owned by his self-identified “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads the manuscript of his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it – and it does.

If auditioning for Annie or Paul, please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue. These do not need to be memorized. Monologues will also be available at the audition table. Everyone who auditions will perform cold readings from the script. Audition sides and monologues for Misery are also available at cheyennelittletheatre.org/upcoming-auditions. All roles are open to any race or ethnicity.
