Hedgerows; the vital arteries of our countryside with Sarah Pitt from CPRE
Sarah Pitt of CPRE, The Countryside Charity in Avon and Bristol, will talk about the rich landscape of hedgerows in Britain. Hedgerows are part of our history and culture, vital for wildlife and make farmland more resilient to climate change. Unfolding the story of hedgerows, Sarah looks at the plants and animals that use them and at how we can maintain healthy hedgerows for future generations to enjoy.
Organic farm tour with Tom Richardson
Find out about the benefits of organic farming for wildlife and how The Community Farm manages their land to promote biodiversity, as well as providing nourishing food across the local area. Tom will talk about how we can all support wildlife through our everyday food choices.
Champion Species of the Mendips with Nathan Orr from Mendip Hills National Landscapes
During his talk Nathan will bring to life the programme of nature recovery that the Mendip Hills National Landscapes have embarked on, with particular focus on the eight Champion Species, all of which are threatened and very vulnerable, and which are closely monitored to give brilliant insight into how good, or not, the environment is where they live.
