That spirit will be at the heart of our conference as we celebrate the incredible women and allies whose work for gender equality reverberates across Indiana.The conference will feature:an honor presentation recognizing the women who led the civil and women's rights movements across IndianaIndian, Mexican and of course Indiana favorite cuisines, reflecting the vibrant cultures that help define Northwest Indiana (we scaled this back due to supply chain and other issues experienced by local restauranteurs who have been helping folks impacted by the tornadoes and derecho stormsan interactive how-to workshop with our state legislators on how an issue becomes a bill that can become a law feautring State Reps Maureen Bauer (Future Caucus co-chair) and Earl Harris (Black Legislative Caucus Chair) and State Sen Rodney Pol (Senate Minority Leader) an open discussion of our pillars and policy positions a self care breathing and meditation demonstration fundraising activities including our Patriarchy piñata (take a whack for the PAC!), Guess the Cats in the Carafe and raffle items from our various chaptersIndiana NOW State Council electionsThroughout the day, we’ll honor our elders and foremothers, celebrate today’s changemakers, and create space for connection, culture, organizing, and joy.Friday night before conference, join us for a sunset drum circle on the beach at Indiana Dunes State Park.Indiana Dunes State Park (beach is accessible, with a boardwalk; beach pavilion is accessible; track chairs can be reserved in advance)Arrive beginning at 6:30 p.m. CDT; Sunset Is at 7:40 p.m. CDT; Park admission: $7 per vehicleThere's no better way to kick off a weekend of feminism than watching the sun set over Lake Michigan together.
