He founded the New Kingdom Research Foundation in 2007 along with Professor Geoffrey Martin, et al. He made international headlines in 2025 when the discovery was announced of the tomb of Thutmode II. The tomb, which he discovered in 2022, had been badly damaged by flooding in antiquity and Piers believes that the tomb contents where relocated by officials to a new tomb nearby. He has been continuing the search for the final resting place of Thutmose II and he will be updating us on his search efforts and recent interesting discoveries he has made in the Wadis.
