Le Grand Bal de Chester
The third Chester Grand Bal will be taking place on Saturday 2nd March 2019 at All Saints Church, Hoole Road, Chester.
Please join us for an afternoon of dance and music workshops followed by a bal in the evening with music provided by Kantref.

Grand Bal Programme:
14:00-15:30 Couple Dance workshop
Learn and improve popular European dances with Pat Goodacre. No partner or experience needed but smooth-soled shoes for dancing desirable.
16:00-17:30 Music workshop
If you would like to have a go at playing French and Breton music for dance then bring your instrument along.
16:00-17:30 Breton Dance workshop
Annette Davies will be teaching a selection of dances. Suitable for beginners and more experienced dancers.
17:30-19:30 Music session and supper
Bring your instruments and join in our French and European music session (free with workshop/bal ticket). Music available – email for copies in advance. Please bring along some food to share (as well as plate and cutlery). Alternatively there are some excellent restaurants within 10 minutes’ walk of All Saints Church.
19:30-23:00 Evening Bal with Kantref
Take an accordion, guitar, four fiddles, mandolin and mandola. Mix well and add a touch of bass. Apply liberally to a tasty selection of French and Breton dance tunes. The perfect recipe for a full-flavoured evening!
