(Look out for our white Snap & Social flags)Additional meeting information: Some of us travelling from Runcorn will be catching the 10:06 train from Runcorn Station which will get us to Chester for 10:32. You are quite welcome to meet us on the platform at Runcorn and we can travel there together.Chester blends its Roman heritage with an easy, lived‑in charm, felt most clearly as you move between its waterways and transport hubs. The rail station’s grand Victorian frontage sits just outside the old walls, acting as a busy gateway into the city’s quieter historic core. A short walk brings you to the Shropshire Union Canal, where narrowboats slip past old warehouses and calm towpaths. From there, the River Dee opens out in broad, elegant curves beneath the Queen’s Park Suspension Bridge, leading into green riverside walks that make the city feel both ancient and refreshingly open.
