Farewell Service for Bishop Peter Forster
PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER VIA EVENTBRITE, PLEASE SPEAK TO YOUR INCUMBENT OR PCC SECRETARY
Bishop Peter will be retiring from the Diocese at the end of September after more than 22 years in post. To give thanks for his ministry to us there will be a Farewell Eucharist at Chester Cathedral on Saturday 20 July at 11am.
Bishop Peter will preside and preach; the service will be followed by a simple reception in the Cloisters, Garth and Refectory.
There will be further occasions for colleagues and others in public life to say farewell to Bishop Peter. This service is the opportunity for the Diocese and church members to do so. We are offering tickets to every parish in the Diocese on a first come first served basis, which will be available from 20 May. The deadline for applying is 30 June.
If you would like to attend, please speak to your Incumbent or PCC Secretary. They have been asked to apply for tickets, therefore please make them aware that you would like to be included in the allocation of tickets to your parish.
The Dean of Chester says:
"There will be no separate tickets for clergy so please apply for the total number that your church requires including everyone who will be coming. The tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis and once the cathedral’s capacity is reached, we will not be able to offer more. We therefore ask that you do not request more tickets than you can use as this may deny slots to others. I look forward to hearing from you by 30 June."
If you have any particular enquiries please contact Chris Jones, Liturgical Administrator at Chester Cathedral.
