EW Insights into Recruitment and Inductions
This March, we’re excited to be hosting the first event in our EW Insights line-up, starting with Recruitment and Inductions.
Led by our Health & Safety and Employment Law Specialists, the event will be a valuable opportunity for all business owners and senior managers to get an expert’s perspective on the challenges you may come up against in the early stages of employment.
What topics will we cover?
Our speakers will be shedding light on how to optimise your recruitment and induction strategies, paying special attention to how your processes might change in a post-Brexit Britain.
Nick Wilson, Director of Health & Safety Services at Ellis Whittam, will be discussing the importance of a thorough induction process, your obligations in respect of adequate instruction and training, and what steps you can take to keep staff safe, including:
The hazards and risks you may face;
The measures you can implement to deal with these if necessary; and
How to follow emergency procedures.
Following this, Hannah Adams and Deyontae James, two of Ellis Whittam’s highly-experienced Employment Law Advisers, will be sharing the 9 steps of an effective recruitment process from advertising to induction, including the 5 stages of a basic right to work check.
This presentation will also cover the laws surrounding:
Shortlisting and interviewing; and
Making and withdrawing offers.
By the time of this event, we expect the Brexit outcome to be set in stone, allowing us to provide pragmatic advice on the consequences for employers, including guidance on right to work checks and EEA nationals.
