This talk focuses mainly on Great War [1914-1918] memorials within St Mark’s church before it was bombed in 1940 and on its Roll of Honour of 1960; the external memorial of St Andrew’s church, of 1921, and the internal memorial of 1921 in St Raphael’s
church. It looks behind some of the names on these memorials, considers how they were established and how some lists of names can be seen as cross-sections of the social classes that once existed in the Surbiton area.

Doors open at 7pm. Talk starts at 7.30
