A walk for everyone - newcomers and beginners very welcome! The walk is free of charge but advance booking is essential as places are limited.After meeting at Cheshunt station, our leader Andrew Peel will take us around and show us what the wonderful River Lee Country Park can offer in the way of warblers, which are in full voice at this time of year, as well as other spring highlights.In particular we will be looking for Nightingales. We also expect to see plenty of wildfowl, and hope to see woodpeckers, Common Terns, Kingfishers, Peregrines and Ravens.River Lee Country Park, a part of the Lee Valley Regional Park, is a great place to get close to nature and watch some amazing wildlife. This 1,000-acre park is thriving with a wide variety of species. Some 200 bird species have been recorded here and of these 150 can be seen every year. Two charismatic mammals may also be found, the otter and water vole!Bring along your binoculars and a packed lunch. There is a hide where you can enjoy watching the birds while you take a break and refuel during the day. We will break for lunch near the Bittern Information Point/Fishers Green. The whole trip will involve walking about 6 miles.
