Come "journey to the past" with us and enjoy StoneBridge School Drama's performance of the Broadway musical, "Anastasia!"
This beautiful musical with book by Terrance McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens is inspired by the 20th Century Fox Motion pictures animation and play by Marcelle Maurette.. It takes the legend that the princess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov may have survived the murder of the Romanov family in 1918...a legend that went on for nearly a century afterwards...and brings it to life. This story is not merely a princess fantasy come to life — it blends the history of the Russian Revolution with legend to highlight deeper truths about the power of hope and the importance of choices.
While history and legend are central to the storyline, Anastasia is not about changing history — it is about inspiring us to see how the choices we make can change our own lives, the lives around us, and even the future.
We have over 40 6th-12th grade StoneBridge School students involved in the cast and crew, and they have already been working hard for months to prepare for the show. We can't wait for YOU to join us on this journey to the past!
