The event will highlight culturally relevant care, health equity, and the unique experiences of Black individuals navigating cancer. Together, we will share knowledge, amplify lived experiences, and connect with trusted health professionals to explore cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship through a culturally responsive lens. Our goal is to empower our community with information, resources, and hope while fostering healing, dialogue, and collective strength.Core Goals:Increase culturally competent cancer health knowledge and cancer preventionAddress systemic barriers and mistrust in healthcareImprove System Navigation for Cancer Care ProgramCenter African Nova Scotian voices and lived experienceTarget Audience:African Nova Scotians / Individuals of African Descent impacted by cancer (survivors, caregivers, family members, community workers)Travel: If you reside outside of the Halifax Regional Municipality and transportation is a barrier, you may be eligible for funding to support your attendance.
