International Schools Writers Summit
On February 16th-17th, 2019, the American International School Chennai (AISC) is hosting two fun-filled, exciting days of writing at our International School Writers Summit! This conference is designed for middle school students grades 6-8.
This summit is designed to be a great experience for students and teachers. Students will improve their writing, work with authors and make new friends. Teachers will also work with authors and work with student writers.
We have three amazing authors coming to AISC who will engage students in different engaging and enriching activities to improve their writing. You can choose from one of three different specialties to work on over the two days.
John Coy is our guest expert for Picture Books.
Morris Gleitzman is our guest expert for Novels.
Cat Weatherill is our guest expert for Storytelling.
We are offering all three specialties, but please remember that space is limited. Each school will be allowed to bring up to fifteen students, but must have an equal number of students for each of the specialty areas (Ex. If you bring nine students, then three can be in picture books, three in novels, and three in storytelling).
In addition to working in the specialties, students will also have a menu of mini-courses to choose fromThese workshops will be presented by teachers from AISC and chaperones from guest schools. If you are interested in offering a mini-course, please sign up here.
