Since its inception in October 2019, Ara-Gora Comedy has gone on produce shows with the biggest names in the Stand up comedy circuit in Chennai namely Jagan Krishnan, Praveen Kumar and Mervyn Ross, to name a few. The first Stand up event (Open Mic) was conducted in Café Central, T Nagar. Subsequently, similar such stand up events were conducted in Burgerman, Besant Nagar.Tanglish Comedy (@tanglishcomedy)Tanglish Comedy are the pioneers/முன்னோடிகள் when it comes to தமிழ் Standup Comedy. Comedy Sabha presented by Tanglish Comedy is a platform for Comedy (Standup Comedy, Sketch Comedy, Improv Comedy) talents and professionals. 200* editions of Comedy Sabha have been conducted and 135+ Comedians have debuted or performed in these 200 editions of Comedy Sabha. Comedy Sabha was preceded by 60 editions of Open Mics which were conducted during 2016-17. These talent platforms apart, Tanglish Comedy has produced 35+ Public Shows (ticketed Shows) and 50+ Private Shows. All of this work are by Tanglish Comedy, which is a 5.5 year old Comedy organization.Poetry & StorytellingMockingbirds (@mockingbirdsinmadras)On a sunny April (not so cruel a month after all) afternoon of 2015, we gave birth to Mockingbirds (or rather, Mockingbirds gave birth to us) in a coffee shop in Chennai when a couple of friends gathered to discuss a way to find an audience for their poetry. In a year, it grew into something much bigger, a platform for upcoming spoken word artists and poets to grow. We have been the answer to, "Does Chennai really have a spoken word poetry group?".The name Mockingbirds is obviously inspired by To K*ll A Mockingbird, Harper Lee's award winning novel. Our organization is built on these very lines from the novel, "Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy.
