Some of her work includes; Bridgerton on Netflix, BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, See How They Run (film), The Muppets Movie and The Orchestra Of The Swan. It was right back at the beginning of her career, at just 20 years old, that Lana was introduced to the world of Vernacular Jazz and, of course, the Lindy Hop. Her training in Lindy Hop involved the history, the repertoire, air steps, the fundamentals, performance and social.
Joel Ovonlen-Jones
Joel Ovonlen-Jones is a dynamic swing and jazz dance artist, teacher and choreographer with over seven years’ experience in teaching Lindy Hop and related jazz dance forms. Based in the UK, Joel is known for his engaging, authentic approach to teaching, largely influenced by his training under Ryan Francois. Joel aims to maintain the original spirit of the dance while making it accessible and enjoyable for dancers of all levels. Joel also has experience working in industry, with recent credits including "Blitz", "The Six Triple Eight" and "Agatha Christie" and is currently producing his own short-film exploring the movement similarities between tennis and jazz.
Together they have created performances and choreographic work that span stage and community settings, blending swing, jazz and theatrical movement. Joel's work reflects a commitment to inclusive dance culture and creative expression, drawing on a broad range of influences from classic jazz rhythms to contemporary performance. Lana prides herself on being grounded in the movement history and the origins of this dance genre whilst still being able to unleash her ever present and contemporary styling influenced by today's world.
For the morning workshop you both need to be reasonably fit, and happy to jump and land. For the afternoon workshop you need to be able to confidently social dance Lindy Hop at any level.
