This will be the first of two trials for Victory Road Reserve parkrun. It will mimic a real event with timing and tokens, however participation will not add to your parkrun stats (though will gain you our immense gratitude!)
To keep things as realistic as possible, times will be as per a standard event with a first timers brief (yes, we realise that’s everyone!) at 7.45am followed by a start at 8am.
Volunteer roles will also be the same as a standard event, meaning a tailwalker will be in place. As with all parkruns there will be no pressure on how quickly you complete the course, in fact we actively encourage people of all speeds to attend so we can see how the cross-over dynamics work on the course.
The start line of the event is adjacent to the car park at the end of Leslie Road (a bitumen/gravel road off Clayton Road). Please note that this car park is small, but you are also allowed to park on the verge along Leslie Road - a car park marshal will be on hand to aid with this. Additional parking options are another car park on Victory Road (also off Clayton Road) which is then a short walk across the reserve to the start line; and also along Clayton Road itself which does not have restrictions at this time of day.
Please note there are no drink taps at Victory Road Reserve and at present there is no access to toilet facilities. The latter will be rectified when the bridge across the creek opens and allows access to the adjoining Elder Street South Reserve, but for now please prepare accordingly.
