The first European name for where we live, and a source of ongoing discussion here, all emanating from a 1745 book loaded with marvelous tales of Gipsy Kings, American Indians, imprisonment and escape... But that's definitely another story, with queries best directed to our friends at the Sandringham and District Historical Society.

TRANSPORT
30min from Melbourne CBD by car, or train to Sandringham Station + by bus to Sandringham Station.

PARKING
1/North end of Sandy Station Cnr of Abbott and Harston Sts.
2/West of Station St with laneway access from Beach Rd and Waltham St.
3/South end of Station St off roundabout to underground parking.
4/Sandringham Foreshore at the end of Abbott and Sims Sts.
5/ There is foot access to Melrose St from parking behind Melrose St via a laneway between shops number 17 (Historical Society) and number 19 (The Hobson Stores)
