Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Our cast of 6th grade students have been working hard to bring this show to life! General Notes: Our show runs approx. 1 hour 30 minutes, including a 15 minute intermission. Concessions, raffles and kisses for the cast will be available for purchase. Please note: our performances will take place at Cedarbrook Middle School! This show is suitable for all ages. Beauty and the Book Drive: Help Belle and the cast of Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Cedarbrook East share their love of reading with Philly Book Bank, a nonprofit that provides free, high quality, culturally diverse children’s books to educators, families and community programs, helping create literacy-rich spaces in homes, classrooms, and neighborhoods!
