Come for the Witches’ Story, join a Spiral Dance, and carry on to dance into the night
(step, sway, and linger...)

Join us by the fire for a gentle and memorable Lammas evening of story, ritual, and movement, led by Kiki Keskinen, founder of WitchSchool, as part of Abundance Days 2026.

This outdoor gathering includes firelight and torches, a story of witch rituals of abundance, gratitude, and first harvest, and a spiral dance hilariously and warmly taught by Kiki. As we hold hands, step, sway, and linger, you will be gently guided through this ancient dance of storytelling and community, moving around the large stone fire and winding together through the grassy meadow.

Under dusk light, lit torches, and the soft breezes of an abundant summer night, we will acknowledge the first harvest and sit with a living question:

What relations do I want in my life now?

This dance is part of how we listen for the answer, so that fall and winter may be abundant too.

And then, we keep going.

As the ritual opens into night, the evening continues with music and free-flow dancing beside the sparks of the fire until 11:00 p.m. This is a chance to meet, mingle, laugh, move, and celebrate what we do have, even in a world of chaos. Around a fire, dancing with smiles, patience, and joy, we remember that micro-community does exist.

Costumes are welcome.
Dress in your own flight of fancy if you wish. This is peak summer, and you are welcome to costume up, wear dress-up clothes, or perhaps just a mask and shape-shift as you will.

This is a sober evening together.
No experience is needed. Come as you are.

We welcome registration on our website, www.WitchSchool.ca/events, and we warmly welcome a donation of $5 or more through our online registration and payment system to help support these evenings and the wider harvest weekend. If you are not able to donate, please come anyway. You are still welcome here.

Please bring:
A chair or something to sit on, your own water bottle, bug repellent, a warm layer for later in the evening, dress-up or cosplay clothes if you want them for the dancing afterward, such as crowns, wings, or playful creature-like dress-ups, and shoes suitable for dancing or just good old bare feet.

Please note:
No pets. Children are welcome with your supervision. Indoor bathroom access is approximately 50 metres from the fire and meadow. Mobility support is available, though stairs without handrails do exist.

Arrival:
Please arrive no later than 8:00 p.m. for the group sacred start. If you are late, make your way quietly to the backyard and through the portal, take our hand, and gently join the circle.

Parking, Carpooling, and a Public Bus Option:
Because many others will already be gathered for the weekend, there may be many cars parked along the road when you arrive. Please come slowly, park with care near Highway 105, and leave generous room for others. Please do not block house driveways, turning spaces, or trails.

Carpooling is warmly encouraged and may be the simplest option for many guests. You are welcome to post in this Facebook event and share your general area if you are looking for a ride or able to offer one.

Travel by public bus:
If you are coming without a car, Transcollines offers on-demand public transit service on Saturday, August 1. It may be possible to book a ride for arrival near 7:40 p.m. and departure near 11:00 p.m. You can be dropped off and picked up close to Highway 105 at the intersection of Chemin Wallace, but you must book your ride at least two hours in advance using the Transcollines App.

The one-way fare is approximately $5 CAD. You will need to register in the app and verify your ID in advance by emailing tadtranscollines@mrcdescollines.com.

Please plan ahead if you are using this on-demand bus service, and give yourself a little extra time. You will need to use an Ottawa public bus first in order to get to Hull.
