- **Event Description**: Summer is in full swing and the water is warm! All swimmers old and new, slow and fast, experienced with open water or not, are welcome!

We’ll meet on O’Brien Beach at 6:30pm, toes in the water at 6:45pm sharp! The weather is looking hot and humid for Thursday, and we are anticipating that the water will be around 22-24c.

Be ready with your tow float and brightly coloured cap (both mandatory on Meech), and goggles. A bathing suit or wetsuit is up to your personal preference.

We will be swimming a minimum of 800m. A pre-swim plan and briefing will be held to make sure everyone is comfortable.

This swim will go ahead unless it is really windy, or there are torrential downpours or thunderstorms.

Bring a snack to share for after the swim. Consider also offering a ride up if you can. 

Open water swimming carries its’ own set of challenges and risks. Swimmers participate at their own risk.
