According to Wikipedia- "Kintsugi ("golden joinery") is a Japanese art form that repairs broken pottery using lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, highlighting rather than hiding fractures. Rooted in 15th-century tradition, it embraces the philosophy of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in flaws, imperfection, and the history of an object. Kintsugi treats breakage and repair as part of an object's history, rather than something to disguise. It symbolizes resilience, indicating that broken, repaired items are often more beautiful and stronger than their original state."

This session will focus on glazing the bowl that you will break during the second session and then repair in a modern way with a glue and gold powder. Bowls will be taken to the studio in Chelsea, fired, and then will be returned on Friday so participants can do the second session at the Art Market at the Sounds And Sights Festival in Chelsea on Friday, July 24th from 6pm-8pm. Please do not sign up for this workshop unless you can make both sessions.

This session is limited to 15 participants.

All sales are final. Although there are no refunds, should you find yourself unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person.
