Soo Opera presents: "Hansel & Gretel"

The apprentice artists of the Soo Opera theater present Engelbert Humperdinck’s opera “Hansel and Gretel”. This beloved musical retelling of the classic tale has been entrancing audiences since its first performance in 1893. The production in Cheboygan will include original sets, live orchestra, and lyrics translated into English.

The Soo Opera (Sault Ste. Marie) has been presenting summer opera since its establishment in 2007. The program brings together experienced performers and students of opera for intensive summer rehearsals and classes. This year's cast includes Cheboygan native Thomas Tafoya, in the role of the Witch.
