- **Event Description**: Young birders of all ages and their families are welcome to join us on Saturday, December 20, at 9am at our Outdoor Classroom in Cheat Lake for our annual Young Birders Christmas Bird Count. Since 1971, Mountaineer Audubon has organized our local CBC; our team will count birds around Ridge Way Farm in Cheat Lake and submit our results to Mountaineer Audubon's CBC coordinator, Derek Courtney. 

Interested participants can sign up in advance by emailing Derek (derek.dana.courtney@gmail.com). We understand that planning in advance with kids can be difficult, so just showing up on the day of the count is fine, too!

Meet us in the large gravel parking lot near the barn at Ridge Way Farm on Saturday, Dec 20, at 9am, and we will begin our count! We will also have hot chocolate and treats, and of course you can say hello to the birds that live at the Outdoor Classroom in the ACCA's care.
