Monongalia County public schools have a two-hour early dismissal on September 4; if you're looking for an afternoon activity, stop by our Outdoor Classroom in Cheat Lake. We are planning vulture-themed crafts, and of course, you can meet the resident turkey and black vultures in our care -- Lew, Boris, Vader, Maverick, and Bliss. We plan to have Bliss out of her enclosure for a flight demonstration around 3pm, so that would be a great time to visit.

(IVAD is celebrated worldwide on the first Saturday in September, but in Morgantown this year, that's also the first WVU Mountaineers home football game, so we are celebrating vultures on Friday instead.)

All of our Vulture Day activities will be free and family friendly! Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic, but no dogs, please.
