Last year, we biked across Vermont and raised over $15,000 for teachers and immigrant student communities in Tennessee. This spring, we continued that work by biking from Nashville to Jackson, Mississippi. We’re now organizing the Pedals for Pencils Community Ride, and we would love to see you there. The Pedals for Pencils Community Ride will take place at East Lake Park (Duck Pond) on Saturday, May 16th from 2-6 PM. From 3-4pm, we will host a no-drop, family-friendly bike ride, starting and ending from East Lake Park. Before and after the ride, we'll have food, lawn games, music, and local community leaders speaking up about how to take action to support migrant student communities in Tennessee. This will be a community event bringing together educators, students, families, and local organizations to support public schools, raise funds for teachers serving multilingual and newcomer students, and raise awareness of current Tennessee legislation impacting immigrant students’ access to education.Kindly RSVP so we can account for numbers.
