- **Event Description**: About the Class

In partnership with Gaining Ground, Crabtree Farms is hosting a three part autumn-inspired food preservation and cooking series “Cultivating Community at Crabtree: Preserving Autumn Harvests”. For our first class, we will be joined by herbalist Amanda G. Verkest to learn all things fermentation! Fermented foods are shown to nourish the gut microbiome, which can support digestion, reduce inflammation, and improve nutrient absorption. Think kimchi, curtido, or sauerkraut!

This is a beginner-level class with no prior experience necessary. Attendees will gain hands-on knowledge about how to safely ferment their food and take home educational materials and a jar of locally-grown veggies to enjoy!
