Snacks, encouragement, and plenty of guidance included!Pre-requisites: Attendees should bring their own sewing machine (owned or borrowed) and have a basic knowledge of how to thread the machine. If you are unsure of how to thread it: you can find PDF instruction manuals for most machines online or a YouTube video that walks you through the steps. If you still aren’t sure of how to thread it: you can make an appointment with the instructor prior to the first class and she can look at your machine and help.This two-part workshop takes place on the following dates and times. Please note: You will have homework to complete before the next session.Session One: Saturday, June 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.In session one, participants will learn the basics of quilting, work with strip sets, and practice cutting and piecing your design together. We’ll also cover how to piece your backing fabric, baste your quilt, and get started with machine quilting using a walking foot.There will be a 30 minute lunch break. Participants are welcome to bring their own or walk to a restaurant in the neighborhood.Session Two: Saturday, June 20, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.In session two, you will learn how to about finish your quilt with confidence. You’ll learn how to create and attach binding, shape your quilt corners, and complete the final steps that bring your project together.
