This year, we run in honor of Mrs. Opal Lee, known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose decades-long campaign helped make Juneteenth a federal holiday. As Lindsay Bisset said so powerfully: “Freedom is a journey we take together as a country, and this race is a reminder of our commitment together.” Juneteenth is a holiday for all Americans, and this race is a meaningful way for people of every background to show unity, honor history, and celebrate the ongoing journey toward freedom. Race Options Participants may choose from: Half Marathon 10K 5K Mrs. Opal Lee Walk All three distances, along with the Mrs. Opal Lee Walk, are out-and-back courses beginning at the Hubert Fry Center.
