Photoworks in partnership with Sun Pier House collaboratively host a Zine Makingg Workshop and Talk with Zara Carpenter

• 2 hour Workshop and Talk with Zara Carpenter
• 1 hot or cold soft drink from the Sun Pier House cafe

Zara will share how handmade books and zines have become an integral part of her art practice, from simple one-page photocopied zines to large-scale fine art works like ‘Distress’ and ‘Relics of Healing’. She’ll talk about her deep love for this tactile, expressive medium and what draws her to it again and again.

Explore how zines offer an intimate space for raw, unfiltered communication, a place where one person can speak directly to others in an uncensored way - making it a powerful tool for self-expression.

In this hands-on session, you will look at zine and book formats, simple printmaking, collage, and photography - discovering your own voice through the process.

Please bring along prints of any photographs you would like to use in the workshop (cheap and small prints, that you are comfortable taping or cutting up)

• Zine workshop - materials will be provided, but feel free to bring in prints of your own images if there is series you are working on
