Helping children cultivate a positive relationship with food and competence in feeding themselves makes mealtimes less stressful for everyone.
Children who are comfortable at the table are more likely to try, eat and enjoy a variety of foods. This interactive workshop will support adults in making this happen for the children in their care. Participants will reflect on their practice of feeding children and the roles and dynamics during mealtimes. Together we’ll explore a proven approach and simple, practical strategies for fostering competence and bringing joy to the table.
Janet holds a BSc from the University of Toronto, as a Specialist in Nutritional Science, and a Masters of Health Science in Health Promotion, from University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine. She founded “Rainbow Plate” with a mission to translate theory into practice; to bring a vibrant and fresh approach to food education for children.
This is a FREE workshop intended for all professionals working with children in Chatham-Kent early years settings.
